Steve Hynds, came from Missouri

"I would like to thank everyone on the reunion committee for putting on such a wonderful event. I was not excited about making the trip from Missouri as I have not seen anyone from our class in many, many years. Then after seeing the videos and pictures of the reunion committee on the website, especially Debbie and Kelly, I decided to come. I am very glad I did as the event exceeded my expectations.

It was so good to see everyone that I am still excited about the trip a week later. My only regret is not having the chance to see and talk with everyone. I guess one can only do so much in one night. My son was looking at the 1977 yearbook two weeks ago and remarked about how much hair we all had back then. It appears that might be the only thing besides my waistline which has changed over the years. It’s remarkable how friendships can pick up again after so long. I hope I do not have to wait until the 40 year reunion to see everyone again. I might even make it out for the 50th birthday party if you do not mind having a 49 year kid in attendance.

Take care and hello again from Springfield, Missouri.

Steve Hynds"

Reunion Video

Message from Steven Brandt

Hi to all,

This is Steven Brandt your 1977 Reseda High Classmate. I was not on the Aug 30th list of who will be attending the reunion. At the reunion my name should have been on the list as I payed the Tuesday before but I did not show .
This is due to a very Unfortunate Event just North of the Agriculture Stop on I-15 in Yermo, Ca. If you have ever been to Vegas then you know the place. I exsperenced a Catastrofic Engine Failure in my Car. I was 4 1/2 Hours out of my home for the Last 21 Years of St George, Utah. It was a Surreal Moment for me. At 2:30 Pm on 9/8, About 80mph with a lot of good thoughts in my head (I did attend the 10th and 20th Reunions) The Music was Playing and I felt a sudden loss of power. I turned down the Music, Pressed down on the accelerator pedal and then I heard a Metalic Grind and a BIG BANG!!! That was it for my engine................ It was not Hot, Full of Coolant and Oil, It Just Came Apart. As I coasted over to the sholder of the road I became to realise The Reunion is over for me, Then the Male Problem solving kicked in......... I'll Take the Bus, Hitch Hike, What ever...................

After stopping I looked at my Cell (A Pocket PC) and it showed NO SERVICE, Dang. It was 101* outside and I was at Mile Marker 101. Well then........ I'm walking. I locked up the car and with my Bottle of water in hand off I went. I tried to catch a ride but no one would stop to help...... Just Honk as they drove by. I checked my Phone again and realised it was in "Flight Mode". It's a UT Starcom and has a habit of doing this by it's self. I was able to get ahold of my Father and told him of my delema. At first he thought I was Pulling his Leg. I do like to joke around but this was no joking matter. He would get our 16ft Car Trailer and his 1 Ton GMC Dooley and come and Pluck me from the Desert. LOLOL............. Thank God For Family. Back to the Car I went........... It was 3 Hours before a CHP came. He gave me a bottle of Water and a ride to the next exit to a place called "Jeremy's Trading Post". It was like being at a Tijuana south of the border Store. I was thankful for t!
he Swamp Cooler and Kirkland Water they had to offer. My Dad, Mom and 2 Boys came for the Rescue Road Trip. We loaded the car by pushing it to get momentum and up the Ramps it went. It was a little crooked but it was better than on the side of I-15. As I Strapped the Car Down I looked at the time, It was 7:30 Pm Mountain Time which is 6:30 Pm Pacific Time. It was Cocktail Time at the Reunion...................

I hope you all had a Great Time and even though I was not there Physically My Heart was there with you all. Family and Friends, That is what life is all about. You all Take Care and if you ever make it to Sunny St George then Look Me up. I can show you around.

If you look on the Map in a 150 mile Radius of St George there is: Zions National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Grand Canyon North rim, Grand Canyon Toroweep, Lake Powell Wahweep, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Sand Hollow Hurricane Sand Dunes, Brian Head Ski Resort, Pine Mountain, Mesquite Nevada, Las Vegas Nevada and some of the BEST OFF ROADING in any direction I have ever seen just to name a few.

I'm home and I'm Safe, Hope to make the 40th!!!

Regards,
Steven Brandt

P.S. Please Forward this to any and all Friends and Classmates.

Reunion Thoughts

Diane Billie, Melinda Richman, Me, Kris Nobben, Robin Stark (yes, Reseda girls are very pretty)
REUNION DAY 9/8/07
Finally after a year of planning, the big day arrived.
I checked into the Sheraton around 3:30pm.
Went to the ballroom around 5pm to set up the displays.
Returned around 6:30pm to the Studio Ballroom.
Checked in, had our photos taken and started mingling.
We do not have a final count, but we think around 120 classmates and 50 guests showed up.
For the next 90 minutes, we took photos, drank, and chatted. It was packed in the reception area, kinda warm.
Everyone was dressed well.
There was a lot of cleavage, no kidding, ask anyone who attended.
Around 8pm, we entered the dining room.
Glenn and Jon, gave welcoming speeches. (Jon you are the classic "halftime announcer").
We ate. I finally encountered the "jumbo cookies". They were not that big.
I will give it an "XL" at the most.
After dinner, we had a raffle, gifts were donated by Reseda Reunion Committee Members.
Wine, CD's, gift cards, gift baskets.
Nancy announced the questionnaire awards.
Some danced, more drinking, much photo taking. Our classmates had some nice cameras.
The reunion ended around 1am.

I had a real good time. After the reunion, I couldn't unwind, didn't sleep til 3am.
I am sorry that I did not get to speak with many of you.

THE DAY AFTER.

I met Kris, Diane, Karen, Ray, Trish, and Ron for breakfast at the Sheraton. After many more goodbyes,
Ron and I headed to the Saddle Ranch Chop House at City Walk (part of Universal Studios) for the brunch.
Around 30 came.

Then, more goodbyes.

Classmates came from far, far, away: Hawaii, Washington State, Missouri, Florida, Nevada, Montana, Massachusetts, Arizona, Oregon, Colorado, Virginia, all over California.
For some classmates, it was their first Reseda Reunion.
The cool thing for me is meeting classmates who I did not know at Reseda.
Classmate occupations: doctor, attorney, motion picture industry, entrepreneur, beauty, executive, college professor, architect,
nursing, health care, transportation, landscape, winemaker.

Thanks everyone who attended and helped out.

Check my blogs once in while to see what is happening for the 50th Birthday Bash, sometime in 2009 (Yes, we know some of you skipped a grade, born in 1960, stop bragging)

Please send questions to reseda1977@yahoo.com (this mail box is checked by different classmates).

Send photos to me at reseda77@verizon.net, and try to ID who are pictured.

I will post reunion photos at www.reseda1977.com

Start your own blogs, myspace, etc. Most of them, like this blog, is FREE!!!! We can link them together. Ask anyone 13-22 years old how to "blog".

One of my newest Reseda friends, Deborah said it well, "I'm glad I went to Reseda"

Good night for now!!!
